The Office of the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality organized the presentation of the performance made by pupils of the public school of the village of Duisi in Pankisi Gorge "Open veranda". The performance at the Marjanishvili Theater was attended by the State Minister Ketevan Tsikhelashvili.
The author of performance is writer and playwright Shadiman Shamanadze's play, It was directed by Tato Pataridze and teacher of the public school of the village Duisi Nestan Mutoshvili. 10 pupils of the school participated in it. The performance was full of vainakh choreographic numbers.
The State Minister thanked Marjanishvili Theater administration and said that the support of such events will continue in the future.
"It is very important that representatives from different ethnic groups, from different regions, have an opportunity to share their art. We support this. Today we had the performance of Pankisi pupils. Some of them completed the school this year and a new stage in their life began. The audience will be able to see how talented young people are in Pankisi.
"I want to reiterate full readiness from the state to continue our policy of civil integration based on the principle of equality. We will create all the possibilities to young people, regardless of their ethnic origin, in order to give them an opportunity to show themselves. Show how talented they are. Pankisi and Kists community are very important and close to us. Our relationships are traditionally based on mutual respect, cultural dialogue and it will continue in the future as well", - said Ketevan Tsikhelashvili.
The "Open veranda" has already been staged at the Gori State Teaching University and the Tbilisi Technical University, where the performance of Pankisi pupils took the first place. At the end of the event the State Minister presented them the illustrations of the “Knight in the Panther's Skin” as a gift.
The performance was also attended by filmmakers, poets, writers and young people in Pankisi.
