On behalf of Office of the State Minister of Georgia in honor of the International Day of Peace special reception was held. The event was attended by the NATO Deputy Secretary General, Rose Gottemoeller, representatives of diplomatic corps, international organizations, civil society and people affected by the conflict and living in the villages along the dividing lines.

The State Minister thanked the guests for coming and said that with the visit of Rose Gottemoeller NATO's unwavering support for Georgia and its people was once again demonstrated.

"I believe that more women will be involved in the peace process, the more peace will be in the world. Women are often the most vulnerable to war and conflict, but at the same time women are often the most active and courageous actors of peace. I certify my respect to each of you and those who are not in this hall today but are active peacekeepers.

Here are the women involved in public diplomacy, who have been devoted years of service and are struggling in order to restore bridges and build confidence. Here are the ladies who live face to face to fences, live in grave reality, but show others the example of compassion, desire, goodwill. And they still try to help other people.

Here are active and brave ladies from the occupied territories, whose identity cannot be publicly discussed, including doctors, entrepreneurs, especially teachers, who are the heroes of nowadays and who are caring for the next generations. Thank you for this heroism", - said the State Minister.
