Ketevan Tsikhelashvili met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden

The State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili held an introductory meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Georgia Ulrik Tideström.

The State Minister congratulated the Ambassador on the start of diplomatic mission in Georgia and wished success in the future activity.

Ketevan Tsikhelashvili introduced the guest's activities of the Office of the State Minister and Governments peace policy.

During the meeting the situation in the occupied territories, human rights violations and the humanitarian challenges with which the population living on both sides of the barbed wire fences faces everyday were discussed.

The State Minister provided the guest with information about the Government's new peace initiative "A Step for a Better Future", which envisages economic strengthening of the population living on the occupied territories and facilitating access to various services to them. She also introduced the Ambassador the steps taken in the process of implementation of this initiative. Tsikhelashvili thanked the guest for supporting Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

At the end of the meeting, the State Minister underlined the importance of friendly and partner relations between Georgia and the Kingdom of Sweden. The sides expressed their readiness to close and active cooperation and hoped that the joint work will be fruitful.
