Ketevan Tsikhelashvili met with members of the Senate of France

Ketevan Tsikhelashvili State Minister for Reconciliation and Civil Equality of Georgia met with René Danis and Jisel Jurda members of the French Senate visiting Georgia.

At the meeting, Ketevan Tsikhelashvili briefed the guests about the activities and key directions of the State Minister's Office.

They discussed the situation and problems in the occupied territories of Georgia. The State Minister informed the members of the French Senate about the challenges faced by the people in Abkhazia and Tskhinvali. The guests are planning to visit the dividing lines to get acquainted with the situation on the spot.

The state policy of reconciliation and engagement was discussed at the meeting too. They talked about the government's new peace initiative ‘Step to a Better Future’, which offers a program to encourage economic strengthening and simplification of the access for residents of the occupied territories to benefits.

The importance of the support of the French government in resolving the conflicts was emphasized. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili also thanked Senators for supporting Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
