KETEVAN TSIKHELASHVILI HAD MEETING WITH THE AMBASSADOR EXTRAORDINARY AND PLENIPOTENTIARY OF LATVIA

State Minister for Reconciliation and Civil Equality of Georgia Ketevan Tsikhelashvili had acquaintance meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Latvia to Georgia Ingrida Levrence. 

The State Minister familiarized the guest with the activities of the Office. They discussed the existing situation in the occupied territories. The facts of gross violation of human rights in Abkhazian and Tskhinvali regions were mentioned, as well as the discriminating environment, where Gali and Akhalgori population has to live. 

The conversation also touched Georgian peacekeeping and involvement policy. They discussed new peacekeeping initiative “Step towards the Better Future”. They reviewed all directions and aspects, implied under it. 

The State Minister thanked the Ambassador of Latvia for the visit and stated that Georgia is grateful to Latvia for unshaken position and support in regard to territorial integrity of the country. The parties also shaped future plans.
