The First Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ruslan Abashidze met with British Ambassador to Georgia, Justin McKenzie Smith.

At the introductory meeting, the situation in the occupied territories of Georgia was discussed. Participants also talked about the challenges faced by the population living in the occupied territories or along the dividing lines.

They also discussed the peace initiative "A Step to a Better Future", its implementation and prospects. The role and importance of UK’s support in this process was emphasized.

The sides expressed their willingness for close cooperation. The future plans were set.
