The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili met with the population of Karaleti within the frames of the “Village Support Program”.
The State Minister received information about the challenges and needs of the locals. The population of Karaleti discussed the priority infrastructure projects which funding is available in the framework of the “Village Support Program”.
According to Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, this project is extremely important. She explained that 20 million GEL was allocated in order to meet the most important needs of half a million people living in 3700 villages. The Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure will monitor the implementation of this program.
"From January 15 we are working intensively. The meetings will be held in every village and people will have the opportunity to define the infrastructure project that needs to be funded at the first stage. Of course, the sum may not be the one that will solve every problem in each village, but we are taking these steps and we want to turn it in a permanent practice when we will be able to respond to the needs of the rural population and to strengthen these villages. Thus the population will be able to get more access to carry out such activities, which will bring them more income and wealth", - said Ketevan Tsikhelashvili.
The meeting was also attended by the Mayor of Gori and representatives of the municipality.
