Deputy Minister of State for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, Lia Gigauri, presented in Ninotsminda the State Strategy for Civic Equality and Integration and 2018 Action Plan and the Strategic Priorities of 2019 in order to enhance the effectiveness of the state policy of the integration of ethnic minorities.
Representatives of the civil sector of Ninotsminda municipality, village trustees and municipal authorities attended the meeting. At the presentation, the Deputy State Minister spoke about the policy of civic integration and the steps taken by the State in this regard. The subject of special interest in the attending society was to strengthen the teaching of the state language.
Lia Gigauri called the meeting fruitful and noted that it was attended by those people who work on development of the region and support the process of integration with their projects and programs. Among them - young people who have received higher education through the "1 + 4 education program”, returned to the region and now are working on different positions.
"They have vision and concrete proposals on how to improve the processes in the region in terms of integration and how to answer the challenges. They are already thinking about ways to overcome them. The meeting was very interesting and informative. It was interactive. There are many issues on which we need to work in close cooperation with different structures.
"The priorities of the integration in 2019 is the strengthening of cooperation with civil society, as well as with the local government”, - said Lia Gigiauri.
The event was attended by the Mayor Anivard Mosoyan and chairman of the City Council Sumbat Keuregyan.
