The Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, Lia Gigauri visited Marneuli Public School #2, where congratulated pupils, parents and teachers on Novruz Bayram celebration.
The school students held a concert dedicated to the holiday, musical and choreographic numbers were performed. As the Deputy State Minister said, this day is traditionally celebrated as a symbol of New year, renewal, joy and happiness, light and nature.
"I want to congratulate everyone on this holiday and wish you happiness, health and most importantly, peace in each family and whole Georgia. Georgia is multi-ethnic, one big family for which peace is especially important and necessary. I want our children to live under the sky without clouds and without conflicts.
"It is very important that the first festival of Novruz Bayram was held at school and the students took part in it. Representatives of ethnic minorities showed us different activities that characterize the diverse Georgian culture. They speak Georgian, because they are aware of the State policy that every citizen should know the Georgian language and use the possibilities offered by the State for their happiness and success. Each of them understands that the cultural diversity of our country is a symbol of our unity and strength", - said Lia Gigauri.
The event also was attended by the local self-government representatives.
