The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, together with the Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze, was in Marneuli and congratulated Azeri citizens of Georgia on Novruz Bayram celebration.
"Novruz Bayraminiz Mubarak. I congratulate on Novruz Bayram every Azerbaijani citizen and all the people who celebrate this wonderful holiday in Georgia today. This is the holiday of spring and of a new life. I want to wish each family and our country kindness, prosperity and, what is the most important to each of us - peace.
"I want to wish that the situation with occupation will end soon, because it is in the interest of each of us. Every citizen of our country can contribute and protect the most important thing - peace, the unique treasure we have in our diversity, our relationships, based on mutual respect and love. Today, each of us, the whole Georgia, is a part of this holiday", - said Ketevan Tsikhelashvili.
On March 21 Azerbaijan national holiday Novruz Bayram is celebrated. It is to celebrate the New Year, coming of spring and day and night equalization.
In Georgia, Novruz Bayram is celebrated a public holiday from 2010. On 30 September, 2009, Novruz was included into UNESCO's List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and in 2010 the UN General Assembly recognized Novruz as the International Day. "The Knight in the Panther's Skin" confirms the long tradition of Novruz Bayram in our country.
