The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili held a meeting with Pascal Moro, European Regional Director of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
Ketevan Tsikhelashvili provided the guest with information about the humanitarian situation in the occupied regions, the violations of human rights and the discrimination on ethnic grounds. She emphasized the restrictions of the right to freedom of movement and the right to education in their native language. He also spoke about the conditions in which ethnic Georgian population live in Gali and Akhalgori.
One of the main topics of discussion was the Government's peace initiative "A Step to a Better Future" and its implementation.
They discussed the steps taken within this program. The importance of cooperation with UNHCR and its engagement in the peace process was underlined. Plans for future close cooperation were set.
