First Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ruslan Abashidze met Eric Hog, the Head of the EUMM mission.
First of all, the issue of Gela Rostavaia, kidnapped from the village of Shamgona, was discussed at the meeting. He was taken to the Georgian government controlled territory by the EU Monitoring Mission.
One of the main topics of discussion was Geneva international talks held on April 2-3. The First Deputy State Minister provided the guest with information on its progress and results. He spoke about the topics discussed in the 47th round.
Later, the format of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) was discussed. They underlines the need for restoration of IPRM in Gali and talk about a work that is taking place in this direction.
The role of the EUMM and the importance of its activities in the peace process was emphasized.
