Ketevan Tsikhelashvili met with President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili met with the President of the Senate of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Faisal Al-Fayez and his accompanying delegation.

The main topic of the meeting was the ongoing occupation and its consequences. The State Minister provided the guests with information about the situation in Georgia's occupied territories and along the dividing lines, existing threats, security and humanitarian challenges.

Discussions focused on the situation in Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region, especially in Gali and Akhalgori districts. 

Ketevan Tsikhelashvili spoke about the priorities of the Georgian government's reconciliation and engagement policy. They also discussed the new peace initiative "A Step to a Better Future". All the benefits or services which the initiative provides for the population living on the occupied territories and along the dividing lines.

At the end of the meeting the State Minister thanked the visitors for the support of Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty. Specific plans for deepening future cooperation were set up.
