6 May 2019
The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili met the population of Pankisi Gorge in the village of Jokolo and discussed with them different issues.

At the meeting which was attended by the representatives of the Public Assembly, the Elders and the members of the Council of Women, the population was given the opportunity to ask questions on the relevant and interesting for them topics. The State Minister answered each question.

"It was a constructive meeting. There is a coherence of willingness from the authorities and the population to continue dialogue and communicate more actively to discuss issues that concern the population, which is important for the development of the Pankisi Gorge. Communication does not have any alternative, violence is absolutely inadmissible – we have an example of April 21. I think there is a common agreement on this.

"The population had specific opinions that I have heard. I also talked about the Pankisi Gorge Development Plan which is very voluminous and contains many directions. In the end, one wish unites us - the development of the valley. The development of the country depends on the development of the regions. I think that this is the beginning of a new phase – the phase of dialogue and communication that was two weeks ago and would be even more intensive with different groups of people. Resource that everything will be solved through the involvement and communication of the population is very high, because there is a willingness, specific vision and plans", - said Ketevan Tsikhelashvili.
