The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili met with the Head of the European External Action Service, Russia, Eastern Partnership, Central Asia, Regional Cooperation and OSCE Directorate Luke Devins.
The main topic of the meeting was the peace initiative "A Step to a Better Future". They discussed the progress and results of its implementation, emphasized the necessity and benefits, which will people living in the occupied territories and along the dividing lines receive from this project.
The importance of political and financial support of the EU for the implementation of the peace initiative was noted. The State Minister thanked the guest for the strong and continuous assistance of the European Union towards Georgia's peacekeeping policies. She also emphasized the direct role and involvement of Luke Devins in the implementation of the peace initiative.
Another issue of the conversation was the situation in the occupied territories and the socio-economic problems that the population suffers. The State Minister provided the guest with information on the difficulties caused by restriction of freedom of movement and other human rights violations.
At the end of the meeting, plans for development and cooperation were set up.
