"At this point, the main priority is to release our fellow citizens safely and as soon as possible". Such statement the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili made while commenting the incident in the Akhalubani village (illegal detention of Georgian citizens).
According to her, the state is doing its best to release the illegal detainees as soon as possible. “The hotline has been activated several times yesterday and today by the EUMM and the State Security service. The demand of the Georgian side, of course, is to release these persons. Besides, the Co-Chairs of Geneva discussions are also informed in order to mobilize the international community and intensify the pressure on the occupation regime.
“This illegal detention for our fellow citizens is, of course, always unjustified and very painful, not only for specific families but for the whole society. Especially when during the previous days we had an episode of illegal boarderization in the village of Gugutiantkari. This, of course, aggravates the background both in terms of security and humanitarian.
“At this point, our top priority is to free our fellow citizens safely and on time. According to the information that we received via hotline, their condition is satisfactory. However, the satisfactory answer for us will their release”, - said Ketevan Tsikhelashvili.
