Ketevan Tsikhelashvili met with UN Resident Coordinator in Georgia Sabine Machl

State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili met with UN Resident Coordinator in Georgia Sabine Machl. 

The main topic of the meeting was the situation in the village of Gugutiantkari. The State Minister briefed the guest on the process of building illegal wires in the village in recent weeks. They discussed the challenges that the local population will face as a result of all this.

Ketevan Tsikhelashvili informed the guest about eight young people kidnapped from the village of Akhalubani. She talked about the difficulties that the people living along the dividing lines face in their daily lives.

The State Minister in details spoke about the steps taken and planned by the State which are aimed on the development of villages along the dividing lines and assistance to the population. The conversation also touched upon the Georgian government's policy of reconciliation and engagement.

Ketevan Tsikhelashvili thanked the guest for the UN contribution to the peace process. The parties also discussed the prospects of strengthening engagement and further cooperation in this area.
