Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Lia Gigauri met with the population of Pankisi Gorge villages - Tsinubani, Jokolo, Omalo and Zemo, Kvemo and Shua Khalatsnebi.
At the meetings, the villagers talked about the existing challenges. Needs and problems were thoroughly reviewed and the ways of their solving were also offered. The population was also informed about the planned projects in their villages and in the region. Representatives of central and local government, as well as the legislature, answered each question thoroughly.
“We continue the meetings with the population. This time we are in Pankisi Gorge and have heard about their problems. Particularly interesting were the issues that require long-term solutions, as well as the ongoing problems that require an operational solution, the opinions of the population.
“Every village has its own, special needs, but there are also common problems - the internal roads of the village and drinking water, which is vital for locals. We discussed how and in what ways these issues can be resolved. We all think that the involvement of the population in decision-making is particularly important so that next year's budget and projects can be tailored to their needs”, - said Lia Gigauri.
The meetings were also attended by Irakli Kadagishvili, State Representative in Kakheti, MPs Endzela Machavariani and Gela Samkharauli and representatives of local self-government.
