State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili met with French Senators, members of the France-Caucasus Friendship Group visiting Georgia.
Occupation and its consequences were the main topic of discussion at the meeting. The State Minister informed the guests about the situation in Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region, talked about the problems and needs of the local population.
At the meeting they also talked about the difficulties of the population living along the dividing lines.
Later, Ketevan Tsikhelashvili discussed with the senators the Georgian Government's peace policy and initiative "A Step to a Better Future". She noted the importance and benefits that the residents of the occupied territories and along the dividing lines will receive after the implementation of this initiative.
At the end of the meeting, the members of the France-Caucasus Friendship Group expressed their support for Georgia's peace policy. Future plans were outlined.
