The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili delivered a speech at the Pankisi Youth Forum in the Caucasus House.
At the event, the youth held a presentation on the culture and customs of the Pankisi Gorge and Kisti people. Exhibition - sale of handmade items was organized. The State Minister spoke about the importance of such events and noted that the goal of the State is to create appropriate conditions for each citizen to present their abilities.
“Today, Pankisi children presented local culture, folklore and cuisine. Most importantly, the civic activities they carry out through the Kakheti Regional Development Fund and with the support of other donors. I am very glad that our Kisti people and Georgian population in Pankisi Gorge are engaged in similar projects together. Now these children are friends and I am sure they will be like-minded and very worthy citizens in the future.
“Such activities help them to participate in our country's life and development. That is the task of our civil integration - on the one hand to respect, get to acquainted with one another's culture, diversity that distinguishes our country, and on the other, to be a connected society, because the opportunity for each of us is important to this country. The aim of our Government is to create the conditions for their self-realization as much as possible”, - said the State Minister said.
