The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili met with a delegation of former MEPs at an official dinner.
The situation on the occupied territories, the challenges of conflict-affected people and Georgia's peace policy - these are the issues that the State Minister discussed with the delegation.
Occupation and its consequences were the main topic of discussion at the meeting. The State Minister talked about the grave cases of human rights violations in Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region. She highlighted the harassment of ethnic Georgians residing in Gali and Akhalgori districts.
At the meeting they also talked about the difficulties of the population living along the dividing lines.
Later, the State Minister discussed the Georgian Government's peace policy and initiative "A Step to a Better Future". She noted its importance and benefits that the residents of the occupied territories and along the dividing lines will receive after the full implementation of this initiative.
The guests were also interested in the activities carried out by the Office of the State Minister in the field of civil integration. They discussed the steps taken and planned by the State in this regard.
