State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Georgia Enrico Valvo.

At the introductory meeting, Ketevan Tsikhelashvili briefed the Ambassador on the main directions of the State Minister’s activities.

The Minister briefed the Ambassador on the current situation in the occupied territories of Georgia. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili focused on the closure of the so-called checkpoint in Akhalgori direction, which isolates not only the population of Akhalgori but also the whole occupied region.

During the meeting the importance of the efforts of international partners in resolving these issues in a timely manner was emphasized.

State Minister provided Enrico Valvo with detailed information on Georgia’s peace initiative “A Step to a Better Future” and introduced its implementation process.
