Human rights violations in the occupied territories and the grave humanitarian situation in Akhalgori were the main topics of discussion at the meeting of the State Minister and UN Representative to Geneva Discussions Cihan Sultanoğlu.

Ketevan Tsikhelashvili briefed the UN representative on the situation in the occupied regions, the restrictions imposed by the occupation regime and issues that are important for the security and humanitarian situation in the regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali.

The emphasis was on restricting freedom of movement in general, causing thousands of casualties near the occupation line or on the occupied territory, regardless of ethnicity.

At the end of the meeting the sides discussed the progress of the peace initiative "A Step to a Better Future". The State Minister briefed the guest on the implemented work and planned steps.
