Distance meeting was held between the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili and the Vice Prime-Minister of Moldova for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic.
The meeting related to the situation in Georgia’s occupied territories and in conflict region beyond the effective control of Moldova. Parties exchanged information on implemented and planned activities against the COVID-19 pandemic, on concrete steps and the assistance delivered by the Governments of Georgia and Moldova to the residents of the mentioned territories, inter alia in terms of provision of medical supplies, their testing and treatment. Parties also discussed the ways for confronting existing challenges and importance of further deepening cooperation. The significance of implemented peace policy and its role in peaceful conflict settlement was particularly underlined.
Georgia and Moldova have the Memorandum on Cooperation for more than two years in the frames of which the countries cooperate in terms of sharing with each other experience and best practices of peace building.
