The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili congratulates the numerous parishioners of Islam in Georgia with the most brilliant celebration of the Islamic world – “Eid al-Fitr”, the end of Saint Ramazan.
“I want to congratulate every citizen of Islam who celebrate this day – the end of the holy month of Ramadan and tell them that I am happy to join them. Peace, prosperity and happiness for our families and the whole country.
The Muslim community makes richer our diverse and multilateral homeland, where people with different religions always respect each other's beliefs and live peacefully together. I believe it will always be like this.
There is a difficult situation created by the spread of COVID-19 in the country. The Georgian state is doing everything to prevent the disease and ensure the life and health of the population. Our task is to bring the country back on the path of irreversible development as soon as possible. In this process, we have high hopes for the involvement and cooperation, patience and wisdom of each of our citizens”, - said the State Minister.
Eid al-Fitr, also called the “Festival of Breaking the Fast”, is a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. The holiday celebrates the conclusion of the 29 or 30 days of dawn-to-sunset fasting during the entire month of Ramadan.
