Strengthening the involvement of women in the peace process and improving their legal and socio-economic status is an important priority. Such a statement made the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civil Equality Tea Akhvlediani.
„It is also an important priority for us to strengthen the involvement of women in the peace process and to improve their legal and socio-economic situation. In this regard, in line with our commitments under the UN Security Council Resolutions on Women, Peace and Security, we are implementing a variety of activities, including regular informational meetings with women’s organizations and women living near demarcation lines, as well as raising their awareness of domestic violence and other issues. We plan to systematize such meetings more and further encourage women's participation in trust-building projects“.
