Tea Akhvlediani held a meeting with the newly appointed Permanent Representative of the United Nations Development Program in Georgia Nick Beresford

State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Tea Akhvlediani met with Nick Beresford, the newly appointed Permanent Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Georgia.

At the meeting, the State Minister stressed the importance of the role of the UNDP in the process of peaceful resolution of the conflict and the restoration of confidence between the artificially divided societies.

The sides discussed the situation in the occupied territories of Georgia, as well as the UN activities in Abkhazia and the planned projects aimed at supporting and assisting the conflict-affected population.

Tea Akhvlediani briefed the UNDP representative on the progress of the reconciliation and engagement policy, including the implementation of the Peace Initiative “A Step to a Better Future”.

The UNDP Representative noted with gratitude the close relations established over the years with the Office of the State Minister and expressed full readiness for further cooperation.
