The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, Tea Akhvlediani held a meeting with Louis Bono, the Senior Advisor for Caucasus Negotiations of the United States Department of State.
She thanked the foreign diplomat for the US firm support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within the internationally recognized borders and emphasized the United States role in the process of peaceful settlement of the conflict in Georgia.
Tea Akhvlediani updated the US Senior Advisor on the implementation of reconciliation and engagement policies, including the peace initiative “Step to a Better Future,” which aims to improve socio-economic conditions for conflict-affected populations.
The parties emphasised the importance of Geneva International Discussions and the necessity of moving forward.
The Senior Advisor for Caucasus Negotiations of the US Department of State reiterated the United States’ steadfast support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders, as well as the government’s peace policy.
The parties have agreed to maintain close collaboration.
