In frames of the week dedicated to the International Day for Tolerance, Mr. Levan Lortkipanidze, political analyst, gave a lecture on the topic “Civic Integration and Tolerance in Georgia” to students and senior pupils of Iakob Gogebashvili State University of Telavi, including the representatives of ethnic minorities.
Representative of State Minister’s Office for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Mr. Zviad Zviadadze and his colleges from Civil Integration Unit took part into the meeting.
The lecture covered the topic of ethnic and religious diversity of Georgia and the tradition of cross-culture livelihood, followed by a discussion. Mr. Levan Lortkipanidze responded to the questions of audience.
Similar meetings shall take place in Samtskhe-Javakheti and Kvemo Kartli regions.
The week dedicated to the International Day for Tolerance runs under the arrangement of the State Minister’s Office for Reconciliation and Civic Equality. On November 14, the week shall be followed by multi-ethnic festival “Under One Sky” in Bolnisi.
On November 15, the State Minister Mr. Paata Zakareishvili will host a reception with invited guests – representatives of ethnic minorities, non-governmental organizations and diplomatic corps. Winners of the photo competition “Diversity of Our Country,” dedicated to to the International Day for Tolerance will be announced at the reception. The winners will be awarded with certificates and gifts.
The International Day for Tolerance is marked on November 16.
