The First Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili co-chaired the meeting of the Working Group on People-to-People and Cultural Exchanges in frames of the U.S.-Georgia Strategic Partnership Commission in Washington D.C.
The First Deputy State Minister focused on peaceful settlement of conflicts, with an emphasis on engagement policy in the areas of healthcare and education opportunities for the residents of occupied territories. Addressing the participants of the meeting, Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili provided information on problems and restrictions that are imposed on free movement of local population, due to the installation of barbed-wire fences and artificial barriers.
The First Deputy State Minister paid a particular attention to USAID projects and the support of the United States for territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia.
Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili also provided information on new National Concept for Tolerance and Civic Integration and its respective Action Plan.
