Presentation of the State Strategy on Civic Equality and Integration and its respective Action Plan for 2015-2020 took place in Akhaltsikhe. Representative of the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality in Samtskhe-Javakheti Mr. Artush Melkonyan introduced the documents with community representatives and Armenian youngsters. Ms. Seda Melkumyan, Chairperson of the organization “Civil Education for Legal State” participated into the presentation as well.
Representative of the Minister reviewed the basic areas of the State Strategy and the Action Plan, its goals and planned activities. Participants of the meeting showed interest towards education, including the teaching of State Language. Mr. Artush Melkonyan responded to the questions of the audience as well.
The meeting took place at Governor’s Office in Akhaltsikhe. Deputy of the Council from Akhaltsikhe Municipality Mr. Hambartsum Baboyan, representative of Akhaltsikhe City Hall Mr. Gevork Hakopian, representatives of Akhaltsikhe City Hall, the Head of Regional Development Service of the Governor’ Office Ms. Marina Gachechiladze, Armenian students of Akhaltsikhe State University, senior pupils of Akhaltsikhe Public School, Armenian-language teachers, representatives and chairpersons of NGOs operating in Akhaltsikhe took part into the meeting.
The Government of Georgia adopted the State Strategy on Civic Equality and Integration and its respective Action Plan for 2015-2020 on August 17, 2015.
