The First Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality has met with the UN Special Rapporteur on Violence against Women Ms. Dubravka Šimonović.
The First Deputy State Minister provided the Special Rapporteur with the information on the activities the SMRCE implements for the protection of women rights within its competence, which is essential for women’s engagement into negotiation process and conflict settlement, the raise of women awareness and their increased participation into peace-building process.
Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili also declared, that the State Minister’s Office is actively involved into the elaboration of Annual National Action Plan for 2016-2019 of the UN #1325 Resolution.
Upon the conclusion of the visit, Ms. Dubravka Šimonović shall host a final meeting where she will introduce the consequences of her visit with Georgian side, with all the relevant agencies.
