Office of the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality marked the Independence Day with concert on Rustaveli Avenue.
Youngsters from Tbilisi, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Kvemo Kartli, Shida Kartli and Kakheti took part into the concert, staging Georgian and ethnic minority dance and song performances.
At the concert, the First Deputy State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili congratulated the participants and guests on 25th Anniversary of Georgia’s Independence.
“Congratulations on 25th Anniversary of Georgia’s Independence. This day is extremely glorious and cheerful. But at the same time, it is sad and hard for Georgia and all of us. Giga Otkhozoria, who has been killed at the occupation line few days ago, will be buried today. We express our compassion for his friends and family. His tragic death reminds us that our fight for independence and freedom is not over. We continue to struggle for the de-occupation of our country. We need to struggle in future, but we need to fight for peace through talent and capacities these youngsters have shown today. We have one country, one sky and one soil. Georgia belongs to each one of us. Georgia belongs to these children, irrespective of their ethnic backgrounds. We should build our country through taking care of each other, through love and gifted talents, through peace and glory. Our diversity is our wealth and these children prove this right,” – Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili declared.
