The First Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili delivered a report on the conference of UK Royal College of Defence Studies at Tbilisi Marriott Hotel, attended by high-profile graduate students.
The First Deputy State Minister spoke about the current situation in the occupied territories of Georgia, the format of international negotiations and the vision of Georgian Government with regard to peaceful settlement of conflicts.
In her speech, Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili gave a special emphasis on the development of Geneva International Discussions and Incident Prevention and Reaction Mechanism (IPRM).
According to the First Deputy State Minister, despite the challenge to Geneva International Discussions, it remains indispensable in a view of Georgian-Russian negotiations format to tackle the issues of international security mechanisms, dignified return of IDPs and to solve the problem of restrictions on education into native language and freedom of movement for the populations of Gali and Akhalgori districts.
“The impact of occupation is reflected on daily lives of approximately 300 thousand IDPs and thousands of people in Georgia,” – Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili declared.
The graduate students of UK Royal College of Defence Studies have paid a study visit to Georgia.
