State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Mr. Paata Zakareishvili attended the requiem at the memorial honoring the persons who died on June 13 flood on Vake-Saburtalo road.
The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, the Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi and Metropolitan Bishop of Abkhazia and Bichvinta, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II delivered a religious service at the requiem.
“The sacrifice had no rationale. Natural disasters occur every now and then and nobody’s safe from that. Nonetheless, unwise policies of the people should not enflame such situations. Unfortunately imprudent human interference with nature has caused casualties amidst the natural disaster,” – Mr. Paata Zakareishvili declared to journalists after the requiem.
21 persons died during the 13-14 June flood of 2015 in Tbilisi. 2 out of 15 remain missing by now.
