Ketevan Tsikhelashvili met with the representatives of international organizations that are working in Abkhazia as part of the Abkhazia Strategic Partnership programme

The First Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili met with the representatives of international organizations that are working in Abkhazia as part of the programme of Abkhazia Strategic Partnership.

The participants of the meeting discussed the projects and activities that are carried out in the region by the international organizations.

As Mrs. Tsikhelashvili said, it’s very important to the Government of Georgia that United Nations and other international organizations are involved in the processes in the breakaway region. Georgian government welcomes the continuation of their activities.
During this meeting participants also discussed Geneva international discussions, the Georgian government's peace policy towards the occupied territories, human rights issues and the current situation in Abkhazia.

The First Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili paid special attention on the problems the ethnic Georgians in Gali district (the right to receive education on native language, freedom of movement issues etc.). She also raised the issue Giga Otkhozoria’s murder (May 19, Khurcha), which once again confirms the necessity of the international security mechanisms in the occupied territories.
