The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civil Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili honored the memory of 17 killed in Russia – Georgian war Shindisi heroes
“The heroes of Shindisi had shown an amazing example of heroism – like the ones, that we met in the history books and that fulfill us with the sense of pride. Their struggle was the example of unity, perseverance, bravery and sacrifice. They really won in an unequal battle and paid for this victory with their lives.
For us this is an example and inspiration. That’s why we should use all peaceful possibilities for the reunification of our country. We've gone through enough pain, enough victims and blood. For the honor of these heroes we should strengthen and resolve the problem of breakaway regions with the reconciliation of people.
What we've got today? The occupation, separation, barbed wire, thousands of ugly barricades. Such reality is not in our interest. People of the both sides are suffering from this situation. Therefore, we need the rational re-evaluation of the results in order to build confidence in a peaceful way and achieve better future", - said Ketevan Tsikhelashvili.
The State Minister thanked the survived heroes of Shindisi for their heroism, perseverance and courage and added, that our country has so far stood in just such heroes.
