The First Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Mr. Petre Kankava has met with the delegation of the Republic of Ghana, chaired by the General Director for the Ministry of Regional Integration and Foreign Affairs Mr. Edwin Adjei.
Addressing the delegation, the First Deputy State Minister gave an overview of the SMRCE activity in the areas of reconciliation and civic integration, the current situation in the occupied regions, the peaceful policy of the Georgian Government and the socio-economic projects that are intended for the residents of occupied territories. Mr. Kankava has focused on the cases of flagrant violation of human rights and the need for consolidated international efforts to tackle the above challenge.
Mr. Petre Kankava has extended thanks to his Ghanaian colleague for continued non-recognition policy of the occupied regions and called on support to the resolution of the UN General Assembly “The Right of Return of Internally Displaced Persons and Refugees.”
“I am delighted that the Delegation of the Republic of Ghana pays a visit to Georgia. This visit is indeed essential, as the Republic of Ghana can contribute to the consolidated position of the African countries at a greater extent. The latter ensures the solid support to non-recognition policy on international level,” – Mr. Petre Kankava declared at the meeting.
