A multiethnic Art festival “Under One Sky – Intercultural Dialogue” took place in Batumi, on the occasion of the International Day for Tolerance.
The First Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Mr. Petre Kankava delivered welcoming remarks in his congratulation address before the participants. Representative of the UN Association Ms. Maka Chichua greeted participants as well.
The concert was led by Ms. Manana Alpaidze, the project author, Georgian Composers Union, the Head of Kvemo Kartli Section. The festival gathered pupils from western Georgia music schools (Kutaisi, Samtredia, Zugdidi, Batumi) and apprentices of Ozurgeti Children’s Studio Theatre. The concert hall of Zakaria Paliashvili Music School hosted a performance based on the collection of short stories by Nodar Dumbadze - “The Roma.” Performance was presented by Ozurgeti Children’s Theatre Studio “Pepilota.”
Participants were granted gifts with the joint support of the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection and the Ministry of Youth Affairs. The festival took place under the arrangement of the Office of the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality and Kvemo Kartli Unit of Georgian Composers Union, in frames of the “Tolerance, Civic Awareness and Integration” program, funded by the UN Association in Georgia (UNAG).
