The First Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Mr. Petre Kankava took part in the public debates on the topic "Information environment in densely populated regions of ethnic minorities". The event was organized by the Office of the Public Defender of Georgia.
"Mass media plays the special role in the process of successful implementation of the civil integration. Not only in the highlighting problems of the ethnic minorities, but also in the inadmissibility of hate speech in media. For political socialization and civic integration of ethnic minorities it is extremely important for them to receive information in an understandable, their native language and have been incorporated into a single information environment", - said Petre Kankava.
He also familiarized the participants with the steps that have been taken under the State Strategy for Civic Equality and Integration and Action Plan for 2015-2020 and planned activities.
