The State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili met with the representatives of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
In particular, she met with the Director of the Bureau for Europe of UN Refugee Agency, UNHCR Vincent Cochetel and UNHCR Regional Representative for the South Caucasus Johannes Van Der Klaauw.
During the meeting participants discussed various aspects of the conflicts peaceful resolution. In particular, UNHCR's involvement in the process of establishing relationships with people on the other side of the conflicts. As the representatives of the UNHCR said, they are ready to continue active work in this direction.
According to the participants, it’s extremely important not to let the appearance of new difficulties for people, living along the dividing lines. Moreover, it’s necessary to simplify the procedure of crossing these lines.
Besides, they said that UNHCR will continue active participation in Geneva talks, because refugee’s return is one of the key issues of this process.
Ketevan Tsikhelashvili thanked the guests for their support and those humanitarian projects, which implements the UNHCR.
