On 3 February 2017, the 74th meeting under the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) took place in the village of Ergneti.
Sebastian Kurz, Austrian Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for 2017 also participated in this meeting.
Participants discussed problems that local residents face along the occupation line and its vicinities due to illegally installed barbed wires, fences and other artificial barriers. Representatives of the Central Government of Georgia once again paid particular attention to the issue of Georgian citizen Giorgi Giunashvili who is illegally detained in so-called Tskhinvali prison. They underlined that he should be released unconditionally.
The next IPRM meeting will take place on March 2, 2017.
