The First Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Mr. Petre Kankava spoke at the Committee hearings in the Parliament of Georgia.
Petre Kankava provided the Ombudsman and members of the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee information about the implementation of Public Defender’s recommendations issued in 2016 after the publication of the “Report of Public Defender on the Current State of Human Rights and Freedom Protection in Georgia for 2015”.
The recommendations to the Office of the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civil Equality of Georgia concerned to the approval of the Action Plan and the state strategy of socio - economic development of the conflict affected regions.
The First Deputy State Minister made a report on the work, done by various departments / ministries work under the Interim Interdepartmental Commission to respond to the needs of people living in the villages along the line of occupation. He drew attention to the humanitarian and socio - economic aspects of this work. Petre Kankava also answered the question of the Ombudsman.
