The State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili met the delegation of the Council of Europe.
The State Minister provided the members of delegation with the information about the situation in occupied territories of Georgia. Especially, human rights and humanitarian issues. Tsikhelashvili underlined the importance of the consolidated report of the Secretary-General of the Council of Europe on the conflict in Georgia.
"For the international community the report of the Secretary-General is the main source of information about the conflicts in Georgia. Therefore it is extremely important to provide the Council of Europe with detailed information about these issues. Our interest is stability. A peaceful resolution of conflicts is a prerequisite for stability. But this does not mean that we want to stabilize the status quo, which is associated with a variety of security and humanitarian challenges ", - said Tsikhelashvili.
She also introduced German MPs with the Georgian government’s approaches and 8 main tasks of the peace policy. She noted that the aim of the Georgian government's initiatives in terms of artificial barriers is the improvement of people's living conditions.
The delegation of the Council of Europe visited Georgia in order to prepare the 15th consolidated report of the Secretary-General.
