On April, 4 2017, the 76th meeting under the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) took place in the village of Ergneti.

Participants discussed all the incidents that happened from previous meeting, freedom of movement and illegal detentions. As the agricultural season is under way, the representatives of the Central Government of Georgia said, that there is a need to ensure the safety of farmers while conducting work in the vicinity of the ABL. They once again said that illegally installed barbed wires, fences and other artificial barriers make problems for local population.

The representatives of the Central Government of Georgia once again paid particular attention to the issue of Georgian citizen Giorgi Giunashvili who is illegally detained in so-called Tskhinvali prison. They underlined that he should be released unconditionally.

The next meeting will take place on 11 May 2017.
