The First Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Mr. Petre Kankava during the sitting of the Diaspora and Caucasus Issues Committee introduced Parliamentarians information about the study of state language. He provided the members of Committee with the information about the Georgian language studies to the ethnic minorities
As Petre Kankava said, the “State Civil Equality and Integration Strategy” and the “Action Plan” for 2015-2020 consider the official language as one of the main instruments of civil integration and we strive to ensure improvement of the level of official language speaking under the current conditions. He also said, that the official language issue in the regions settled with ethnic minorities remains one of the main challenges impeding their full integration in social and political life
The First Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality also talked about the restrictions of Georgian language studies in the occupied territories. He underlined, that the Georgian side with the support of the international partner is doing everything in order to resolve this problem.
The Deputy-Education Minister, Lia Gigauri, also took part in the Committee.
