Ketevan Tsikhelashvili holds meetings with representatives of the Holy See in Vatican

The State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili is on a working visit to the Vatican.
He has already held meetings with the Secretary of State of the Holy See, Pietro Passini, with the Cardinal Peter Turkson, the Prefect of Human Integration Development Diocese, and Secretary of the Foreign Relations Department of the Holy See, Archbishop Paul Richard Galahire,
"It is very important that the Vatican's Holy See is firm in relation to Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity and it is one of the important partners in terms of non-recognition policy. We met with the Vatican State Minister, who is very well informed about Georgia's territorial integrity and occupied territories. We, along with the information on the situation in the occupied territories of Georgia, spoke about the peacekeeping policy of our country”, - said the State Minister.
On April, 27, Ketevan Tsikhelashvili met with Guido de Sanctus, Director of Eastern Europe, Russia and South Caucasus Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy.
The State Minister provided the Italian side with the information about the situation in the occupied territories of Georgia, the peaceful view of the Georgian government in the direction of conflict resolution and current dynamics. Guido de Sancti was interested in the economic situation in the occupied territories, the so-called passportization, the situation in terms of human rights protection, the effectiveness of the Geneva Discussions, the policy carried out by Russia towards the Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions. The Italian official reaffirmed the support of the Italian Republic to Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
At the end of the visit, the State Minister met with the Head of the EU Delegation to the Holy See, Janus Tombinsky.
