TSIKHELASHVILI: TEACHERS OF THE SCHOOLS LOCATED ALONG THE DIVIDING LINE ARE THE HEROES OF OUR TIME

"You are working in the conditions of the special challenges, you are the heroes of our times", - Ketevan Tsikhelashvili addressed with these words to the teachers who work in the schools near the dividing line, who participated in the conference "Teacher - guide to Europe".
The State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Mrs. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili welcomed the participants of the conference, paying special attention to the profession of the teacher, the importance of the activities in the villages along the dividing line.
"Being a teacher is very important. You are educating the future of our country. In villages along the dividing lines you have to work in the conditions of the special challenges and you professionally carry out your work. You are the heroes of nowadays, because in extremely difficult circumstances you are bringing up children with hope for the future, love for peace and the high values that connect us to the European future. Once again I confirm the respect and support in the implementation of your activities", - said Tsikhelashvili.

The conference "Teacher - guide to Europe" is held in the “Teacher's house”, within the framework of Europe days, organization of the NATO Information Center and the European Union, with the support of the National Center for Professional Development of Teachers and the Foundation of Friedrich Ebert. The aim of the conference is to inform teachers about the importance and prospects of integration into the EU and the opportunities that European projects offer them.

Victor Dolidze, the State Minister for the Integration of Georgia into the European and Euro-Atlantic Structures, Ketevan Tzihelashvili, the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassadors of Estonia and Germany in Georgia, the Director of the Friedrich Ebert’s Foundation in Georgia Felix Hett, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Ketevan Natriashvili and Director of the National Center for Professional Development of Teachers Giorgi Machabeli addressed to the participants of the conference (over 100 teachers from Tbilisi and various regions of Georgia, including the villages along the dividing line).
