Tsikhelashvili familiarized with ongoing drilling works at borehole with the First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and infrastructure of Georgia Tengiz Shergelashvili and Executive Director at Municipal Development Fund of Georgia Elguja Khokrishvili.
After recognizing with working procesudres, Ketevan Tsikhelashvili noted, that as soon as the project is implemented, the problem of potable water supply of the village will be solved.
"Unfortunately, this issue was unresolved over the years; in addition, the population of Zardiantkari and other villages has many other problems. With the coordination of our office, interagency group founded with the Ministry of Regional Development and infrastructure of Georgia and the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia, has completed the study of the needs of villages near the administrative dividing lines. On the next stage we will accelerate the beginning of the project implementation to meet the needs of the local residents. These families are exceptionally affected by the events of the August 2008, also by barbed wires and barriers. Many of the families have no access to their land and gardens, which is the only source of their income. The State is strongly determined to support these people. This borehole is one of the first projects. Soon the Government will be able to carry out pretty more activities", - said Ketevan Tsikhelashvili
She also focused on the conditions of population living on the other side of the dividing lines.
"We are no less worried about the problems of population living on the other side of the dividing lines and we understand that these people aren’t in a better condition. For us, the starting point is the needs and the prosperity of these people", - said Ketevan Tsikhelashvili.
Tengiz Shergelashvili noted, that drilling activities are currently underway in Zardiantkari and Koshka, the first result well be known in the beginning of August. As stated the Executive Director at Municipal Development Fund of Georgia Elguja Khokrishvili the building of such boreholes is planned in two other villages and the deadline for completion these four borehole is the end of the September.
In Patara Liakhvi gorge, the Municipality Fund of Georgia is currently implementing project to improve the potable water supply for the nearby villages of the occupied territories, Zardiantkari, Didi Khurvaleti, Gugutaantkari and koshka . The aim of this project is to deliver high quality potable water to the population.
