"With respect to the decision of the Government, passed today, a Legal Entity of Public Law a "State Agency for Religious Issues" has been established. This will be an entity responsible for policy making with regard to the religious issues. Before now, there was no such structural unit and each of the issues was settled by a particular agency. A "State Agency for Religious Issues" is affiliated with Prime Minister’s Office and will function directly under its subordination. The agency will work on various topics of religious organizations; this includes the distribution of funding for the recovery of losses for four religious unions suffered under the Soviet Regime", - Mr. Paata Zakareishvili, the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality declared, adding that the Prime Minister will make a decision on the post of the head of the agency.
